Join us in the abundant forest garden at Elk Run Farm for an all-day intensive on forest gardening and designing plant polycultures. We will use forest ecology to help us understand the diverse niches and yields offered by various perennial fruits, herbs, and vegetables and how to plant them in relationship to one another. We will also provide a sound framework for how to approach the design and implementation of a forest garden, step-by-step, so you can leave feeling confident on how to proceed with your own project. In addition to getting to know the multitude of bio regionally adapted plants at Elk Run Farm, we will provide access to some lists of appropriate bioregional fruit tree and understory species and cultivars and the niches the provide in the forest garden. Access to digital notes and species lists included.
